In the summer of 2018, the library's youth programming instructor wanted to hear more from the age group that used the library the least, 6th-12th graders. She gathered the hardest working teen volunteers from the summer reading program and asked them to assemble a council that would work the make the library a place that could serve middle and high schoolers just as well as it did everyone else.​

Since then, we have participated in various community events, given input on behalf of 6th-12th graders during the planning of the library's teen zone, started a monthly newsletter, and have many more projects on the horizon. We are very proud of the work we do and the community that we serve.
