In the summer of 2018, the library's youth programming instructor wanted to hear more from the age group that used the library the least, 6th-12th graders. She gathered the hardest working teen volunteers from the summer reading program and asked them to assemble a council that would work the make the library a place that could serve middle and high schoolers just as well as it did everyone else.
Since then, we have participated in various community events, given input on behalf of 6th-12th graders during the planning of the library's teen zone, started a monthly newsletter, and have many more projects on the horizon. We are very proud of the work we do and the community that we serve.
