Ready Player One is a dystopian, sci-fi adventure set in the future, about a kid named Wade Watts. He is a kid from a poverty-stricken district in Oklahoma City, who is trying to get out of it. In the story, contestants work to find The Easter Egg in a virtual reality game called the OASIS. The person who finds The Easter Egg gets the creator of the game's fortune after the creator's death. Wade gets help from some of his friends he finds along the way due to his quick wit.
I like this book because the action is nonstop and exciting from the beginning to the last page. The only thing in the story I didn't like was the fact that I felt like, around the middle, you could tell where the story was going. Other than that, it was a fast-paced book with many funny moments and 80’s pop culture references in the story. Solid 8/10.

The summer reading program is a fun and creative way the mustang library gets people to read over summer. Despite what some people believe, the summer reading program is for everyone no matter their age, anyone is welcome to sign up and earn prizes just by reading some books. I first signed up for the program when I was in 3rd grade, and I've been a part of it ever since. The program has really improved over the years, and every year it somehow gets better each time. And then when I entered middle school I was given the opportunity to help behind the scenes of the summer reading as a volunteer. As I volunteer I got to help many kids(and some adults) find a love for reading through the program. No matter if it was just for the prizes or for the events we hosted, I could really tell the kids enjoyed reading during it. Now even as a high schooler I still do the program and volunteer, and I really do recommend doing it because it's really fun, we host events you can come to, and you can earn prizes the more you read.
