Valentine's Day Self Care

By Gabby Thurman on February 1st, 2023

As Valentine's day is coming up, I’m sure some of us that are not in a relationship may feel lonely right around now. Remember to love yourself this Valentine's Day by practicing self-care. Need any ideas? Look below for instructions for the TLC Valentine's self-care night.

  • You could light a non-rose scented candle and take a nice warm bath by yourself and relax and unwind, maybe read a book or two.You could read a nice preferably non-romance book (or a romance if that's what you’re into). This can help you get your mind off of the fact that it is Valentine's day if you dread the holiday entirely.
  • Homemade face masks are a classic in self-care. Here’s a recipe for an oatmeal face mask:
  • Combine 1/2 cup hot—not boiling—water and 1/3 cup oatmeal.
  • After the water and oatmeal have settled for two or three minutes, mix in 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, and one small egg white.
  • Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face, and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse with warm water.
  • Talking to some friends on Valentine's Day may help the day feel less lonely if you're feeling down. Don't forget to let your friends know you love them today!
  • Don't wait for someone else to treat your today! Treat yourself to something new like buying a movie, game, or even some new clothes. Even a trip to the dollar store can be the perfect treat.
  • Listening to music is my favorite form of self-care so turn on your favorite song and sing some karaoke. If you're still in the holiday spirit, check out our Chirstmas song tier list from December

‍Happy Valentine’s Day from the TLC!
